How long is the finish on this whisky? Long enough that we are starting the description with it, think vanilla aged in old oak casks. The nose on the Hakata 18 is massive. Sherry dominates as wafts of cola, dark cherry, and hints of rose swirl around. The palate is exceptionally smooth yet is dominated by an umami bite of a graham cracker-crusted fruit tart made with sherried dates and cherries. Whisky Advocate 94 points. Remember that finish?
