Amatiteña Añejo
Rested 12 months in ex-Napa Valley red wine American oak barrels this añejo has indulgent aromas of fresh glazed donuts, subtle tobacco leaf, candied dates, and petit déjeuner; a palate that is at once generous and elusive, with bold, confectionary flavors of vanilla, caramel, dried cherry, candied plum, sweet potato, black walnut, and subtle marzipan…but with a texture that remains delicate and ethereal. A tequila produced in Amatitán, Jalisco (NOM 1477) by Maestro Tequilero Alberto Partida of 100% Azul, a single estate agave that is cooked in a traditional, mesquite-wood-fired stone oven (without steam), then milled using an automated, traditional tahona. Finally, fermentation is with fibers in open-air wood tanks, using local spring water & ambient yeast then distilled in historical copper pot stills from the 19th century. Verified additive-free. 42% ABV. 50ml.
