Amatiteña Reposado
Amatitena is rested 2 months in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. This reposado presents aromas of subtle butterscotch, fresh brick powder, light resin, and green pea shoots; the palate explodes with sweet roasted carrot, raspberry sherbet, soft baking spices, wet tile, faint orange rind, honeydew, and a finish of crème brûlée and golden beets. What?!?! A tequila produced in Amatitán, Jalisco (NOM 1477) by Maestro Tequilero Alberto Partida of 100% Azul, a single estate agave that is cooked in a traditional, mesquite-wood-fired stone oven (without steam), then milled using an automated, traditional tahona. Finally, fermentation is with fibers in open-air wood tanks, using local spring water & ambient yeast then distilled in historical copper pot stills from the 19th century. Verified additive-free. 42% ABV. 50ml.
